Pakistan lift ICC World Twenty20 trophy

London: Explosive batting, superb bowling and above all team efforts brought ICC World Twenty 20 title to Pakistan.

Pakistan today defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final match of the ICC World Twenty20 at the Lord's.

Putting an impressive show against Sri Lanka, Pakistan's bowler stopped the Team SL at 138 runs. Batting lineup struggled before the Pak bowling orders. Only Sangakkara scored 64.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 138/6 in 20 overs (Kumar Sangakkara 64 not out, Angelo Mathews 35 not out; Abdul Razzaq 3-20) lost to Pakistan 139/2 in 18.4 overs (Shahid Afridi 54 not out, Kamran Akmal 37; Sanath Jayasuriya 1-8).
